Fertility and your mindset

Can your mindset affect your fertility? Surprisingly, yes!

The mind body connection is strong, and highly influential in both directions (mind<—>body.). Often, when preparing for conception, women focus on prenatal vitamins, healthy weight, and good movement, but mindset may be one of the most overlooks aspects of conception.

Our mindset has a direct effect on our health. And there is scientific evidence to prove it! (Check out the research on meditation. It is all about the connection between mindset and mental health.)

The quote by Henry Ford, “whether you think you can, or you think you can’t - you’re right,” is more true than many of us give it credit. Our beliefs are reflected in our actions. A positive outlook can play a positive role in fertility and conception.

Let’s break it down and clarify what it means to have a positive outlook. We are referring to the belief that things (i.e. conception and fertility potential) are possible. It does not mean that you have to act and feel like sunshine and rainbows every minute of everyday. You do not have to fake your emotions.

The Innate Women program and teachings helps women to work on life outlook. Addressing limiting beliefs (it was difficult for my parents so it must be difficult for me), working through trauma (your own or inherited), and stressors we have experienced. We want to help enable women to process the unprocessed emotions holding them back.

Maybe you have experienced a miscarriage, you lack a trust in your own body’s capability, you have a fear of birth and parenthood. Thoughts and feelings of this nature may be “unconsciously” preventing you and your body from really being prepared to receive a pregnancy. If you don’t believe you can get pregnant, it can absolutely affect your body’s functions, including conception.

If you are one of the many who suffer from chronic stress, a physical response can result in your body. Trauma cannot be hidden forever, it will show up one way or another.

Mindset work and emotional healing is not a quick fix and it is not as simple as slapping on a smile and a cheery disposition. A healthy mindset includes showing up as your authentic and dealing with the trauma so it can be released.

Of course, fertility can be affected by mindset, because every part of our health is influenced by our mindset.
